I got an idea about 4 or 5 days ago to stain and etch bricks around the perimeter of my driveway and it lead to my walkway and then I drew a Huge 10′ Texas Star inside a circle at the foot of my driveway. This is just a quick video of the finished product… Well I still need to do the side and back walkway. Enjoy! surffishing.tripod.com (PLEASE, BEPATIENT…I’M VERY BUSY and WORTH THE WAIT!) I have Many references and many pictures and videos Enjoy the show and I hope to hear from you soon! Manuel Z MZ-HANDYMAN 210-735-7282 SHOP 210-313-0541 DIRECT manuelz@netzero.net

What product do you use to make your etching white colored?

  3. phartattack says:

Thats just bare concrete, once I etched it with the mini grinder it just looks white.

I did draw the lines with chalkboard chalk before etching. For longer lines use a straight edge to follow.

Afterwards I just washed it with my water hose, When you’re drawing use a tile sponge as an eraser

I suppose you’d need to seal the stained area? Do you seal after etching? You only seal the etched area?

  5. phartattack says:

I didn’t seal it although I should have. My concern was that it would make the surface too slippery

Some details: did you draw the lines two times–once before you stain it with a carpenter pencil, and the second time with chalk after the stain is set? If you draw with chalk before staining would it affect the stain from being set firmly on the concrete?
