Last night there was a huge thunderstorm in my area. When the rain was coming down at its hardest, I heard dripping coming from the attic. Turns out water was coming in around the attic fan. Do I need to call a roofer or will a handyman be able to do something? I’ve lived in this house for two years and have never had a water problem. The roof itself is about 5-7 years old.

I started a small gymnastics program in my community and would like to have the use of a mini bar. It is a single bar to practice basic gymnastics bar skills. Does anyone have any idea if it is possible to build one or will I have to shell out the 300+ dollars to purchase one? I had local woodworkers build me a few low balance beams and saved time and money. Thought I might be able to do the same thing with a mini bar but can’t find any info on building one…Anyone ever built one, or know how? Here’s a basic description:
Rail: 1.5″ diameter - solid maple wood
Bar height adjustable from 38″ to an unequaled 58″.
Bar height is secured using a snaplock/turnpin combination.
Flat spreader bar (parallel to the top bar) connects the two legs under the mat, adding extra stability.
This sounds like it might be somewhat complicated to put make, but maybe there is an easier way? Any ideas?

TwinzNTeenzMom asked: He’ll be working in my house while I’m at work, so he’ll get a key to my house. The house I live in with my kids! I know people do it all the time, but I’ve heard so many horror stories about handymen. I just don’t know what I should look for or ask about to screen the one I decide to hire. What do you look for??
Thanks for your help!

I have 2 properties that need work. The properties are 30 miles apart. In one house I need 3 lights removed and 6 ceiling fans removed (so that both are able to be reinstalled.) In the other property I need 3 ceiling fans and 2 lights removed. Then install 4 fans (the ones from the other property) and 2 lights. Also mount new slabs on existing frames (which are already square). I would like a estimate on cost on labor. Materials I already have all of. Any help would be appreciated

poinger4242 asked: One story is a tip advising the reader to hang a tennis ball from the roof of his garage to know when to stop when parking. Then, later in the book, one story is a tip to move your neighbor’s tennis ball two feet back. The author has a running joke about a neighbor that borrows tools without returning them and is otherwise a bad neighbor.
It MIGHT have “Handyman’s Guide” in the title.
It MIGHT be a collection of articles from the New York Times.
